Igby Goes Down (2002)

Sookie:  You know what I think when I'm this close to another body? I think one day at one moment... this body that I'm holding in my arms will stop breathing... stop living. Just... stop. One day you'll happen upon my name in the obits and you'll remember this moment when we were so close.

I'm posting quotes because I can now...

Before Sunset (2004)

Celine:  I guess when you're young, you just believe there'll be many people with whom you'll connect with. Later in life, you realize it only happens a few times.

Jesse:  In the moment I remember thinking that it didn't much matter the "Who" of it all. Nobody is gonna be everything to you, and that ultimately it's just a simple action of committing yourself, meeting your responsibilities that matters.

Celine:  You can never replace anyone because everyone is made up of such beautiful specific details.

I Netflix'd this yesterday... it was a very quotable movie.

Pictures of me and my figure studies (circa 2008)

Wee-o!
HI!
Why yes, I am still a big creep.

I was an even younger fledgling in the art world... I was seventeen.  (Aha!  I make myself sound old, but I'm still waiting to turn 21.  Waiting... waiting... waiting...)  The paintings are from Studio Incamminati when I was enrolled in their Emerging Artist Program in 2007-08.  We worked in grisaille the whole time.  This place completely changed the way I look at light and shadow.

Self-portrait

Jung Told Me So.  Oil on canvas panel. 8 X 10 inches.  2010.  Uban.

I was inspired by a reference to the Red Book (a.k.a. Liber Novus or the New Book) last summer when I was all about philosophy and screwing with my own mind.  I've been thinking about it again, and have thought of buying it off of Amazon... anybody recommend it?
